Network Instruments’ Observer® Wins Three Windows & .NET Magazine Prestigious Readers Choice Awards -

Observer recognized as the analyzer of choice for software, gigabit and wireless analysis

MINNEAPOLIS—September 20th, 2002—Network Instruments, LLC, a leading developer of network performance management and troubleshooting tools for both wired and wireless networks, has won three readers choice awards for its Observer product line.

For the category of Best Network Management Tools, the Gigabit Observer Suite System won the best Hardware Network Analyzer award. In the same category, the Observer Suite won the best Software Analyzer award. Additionally, in the category for Best Remote Computing Products, the Observer Suite won the award for best Wireless Application Protocol Solutions.

“We are proud and quite happy about this type of recognition—but not surprised” said Douglas Smith, president and co-founder of Network Instruments. “The Observer product range has always pushed the envelope of price performance, and the user community has been telling us for years that our extensive range of technology and product maturity is clearly a benefit as their networks become more complicated and harder to troubleshoot. We are honored to see that the readers of Windows & .NET magazine have found our products best of breed when compared to other analyzers and monitoring tools.”

“We know that peer recommendations are important to our readership,” said Dave Bernard, custom media editorial director, Windows & .NET Magazine. “The annual Windows & .NET Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards were developed as a way for readers to choose and recommend the best technology products in the industry. Receiving this award is an industry seal of approval.”

“Few people know more about the best values in Windows technology products and services than Windows & .NET Magazine readers—the people who actually do the buying. By voting for the most outstanding products, IT professionals have rewarded excellence in the Windows market,” said Janet Robbins, editor-in-chief, Windows & .NET Magazine.
