Network Instruments Introduces WAN Observer®
Observer 8.3 Extends Network Analysis and Monitoring
Through WAN Rack Mount Probe and WAN Observer Suite System
Network Instruments, LLC has announced the availability of a WAN
analyzer as part of its Observer 8 line of protocol analysis and
monitoring products for LAN/WAN networks. With this extension to
the product line, the Observer family now provides WAN, LAN and
WLAN monitoring and analysis all from a single console enabling
users to troubleshoot network problemsanywhere at any time.

part of a healthy, cost effective remote connectivity strategy,"

All WAN Observer products offer real-time statistics, error/expert
WAN event identification and full packet capture and decode of both
the WAN encapsulation and payload data. Additionally, as with all
Observer products, full long term trending displays baseline WAN
flow information, and helps anticipate capacity issues. All products
have options for WAN speeds of T1/E1 or DS3/E3/T3 and Serial or
Digital connections.
WAN Observer is available in the following formats:
WAN Rack-Mount Probe
The Rack-Mount Probe integrates a WAN Probe Kit into an industry
standard 19 rack-mount system completely configured and ready
to use. The rack-mount system runs Windows 2000 Professional and
WAN Probe software.
WAN Observer Suite System
The WAN Observer Suite System (WOSS) combines the award-winning
Observer Suite with both the hardware and software required to provide
WAN analysis in a fully ruggedized luggable format to meet any high-end
network administrators needs.
